Our Range of Dry Sanitation Toilets
Our Eco-mite toilets are a waterless sanitation solution that enable flushing without a sewer connection. Specifically designed to protect both surface and groundwater, these toilets are ideal to use when access to water and sewer connections are limited, and in sensitive environments where an eco-friendly sanitation solution is required.
These composting toilets are supplied prefabricated and ready for installation. Each unit includes a polyethylene base complete with a toilet pedestal and a urine diversion unit, a drying plate, a solar dome with a hinge lid for easy access, a vent pipe, and an extractor. Our current range consists of the following:
- The Eco-mite Mini – which caters for up to 6 users per day and is typically used for single dwellings, guard houses and remote locations with limited use.
- The Eco-mite Maxi – which caters for up to 20 users per day and is suited for multiple dwellings, rest camps and communal toilet blocks.
- The Eco-mite Mega – which caters for up to 40 users per day and is ideal for larger applications such as school sanitation programs.

How Dry Sanitation Works
A urine diversion unit separates the urine and the feaces, after which the faecal waste is dehydrated as quickly and effectively as possible, and the urine is fermented. This process is aided by our unique patented natural draught design. The dried faeces is then utilised as soil conditioner or a composting agent, and the fermented urine as a highly effective fertiliser. This sustainable sanitation solution is based on the principles of ecological sanitation which values each and every resource and aims to conserve it.
